The terrain in Papua New Guinea has lots of hills and valleys, actually lots of mountains and valleys! That means that getting from one place to another means taking a hike! Many of the language development workers and Bible translators are in great shape from all the walking they do. Even if they can get to their villages by air, the airstrip still might be many miles from their final destination. During the rainy season, these steep trails can be slick because of the clay soil. It might be not any better during the dry season because the paths can be treacherous with loose rocks! Pray for safety and cooperative weather for those that might be traveling today!
