…is God’s perfect peace,
Over all victorious, in its bright increase;
Perfect, yet it floweth fuller every day,
Perfect, yet it groweth deeper all the way.
Francis Havergal’s hymn of divine truth is still very much a truth today. This river seemed still and calm, yet when we jumped in for a swim, we felt the current that pulled strongly at our bodies. It was flowing “fully” and it grew “deeper” as we moved away from the shore. So it is with God. The more we immerse ourselves in Him the stronger the pull that brings us to Him. Pray for the language development and Bible translation effort workers in Papua New Guinea. It’s not always easy to pursue God in the midst of the hard work that they are doing. Pray for a daily commitment to “swim in the river” of God’s grace.
