The hillside was ablaze. Several lines of fire, fueled by the dry grass and steady winds moved the fire up the slope, consuming all in its path. During the dry season, this is a fairly common sight. The fire is relentless and all-consuming. Its focused pursuit moves it forward as it makes its way to the top of the mountain. This intensity is matched by those who have “caught the vision” in the language development and Bible translation effort. Many Papua New Guineans are adamant that every language should have the Scriptures in the language they know the best – their heart language. Pray that the fire would NOT be extinguished and the last language groups without the Scriptures would see them soon.
